Certified Group provides laboratory testing and regulatory consulting services in the food & beverage, dietary supplements & NHP, cosmetics, OTC, tobacco, nicotine, cannabis, hemp, and other industries.

We are currently looking for a Statistician to join our growing team in Kitchener in our Labstat Division

As a result of our continuing growth, Labstat has the following employment opportunity available:

Reporting to the Senior Statistician, the Statistician will carry out the review of analytical data based on principles of Statistical Process Control, format data for submission to the client, as well as prepare written reports in the format appropriate to the needs of the Laboratory and/or client. The Statistician will utilize exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques (linear and non-linear regression, ANOVA, etc.), design experiments for Laboratory and/or external client use, design and develop computer programs (Visual Basic, PowerBuilder) for process automation.

Duties and responsibilities include but not necessarily limited to

• Preparation of data reports and written reports for client projects (including statistical assessment and formatting of data)
• Additional analyses of data as requested internally
• Maintenance of accurate historical control and recovery data files and analyte target values
• Maintain/test macros used in the reporting process
• The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / experience required:

• Minimum of Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Science in Statistics or Biostatistics required
• University-level courses in microbiology, cell biology and computer science, an asset
• 2 or more years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of various statistical tools and concepts such as regression, ANOVA, data modeling, experimental design etc.
• Experience with statistical software
• Extensive experience with MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint and Visual Basic are definite assets
• Previous experience with various statistical software programs, an ability to learn quickly and to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision is critical
• Great attention to detail
• Work with others in a deadline-oriented environment

Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
