Title of Position: Non-CDL Bus Cleaner
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Location: Candidate must be able to work onsite in Aspen and/or Glenwood Springs, Colorado Pay Range: Hiring/ Starting pay range is $16.00 - $20.00/hourly, based on experience.

Position Purpose: Provides support to the Maintenance Department by performing a variety of duties including cleaning, servicing and moving of RFTA transit vehicles and equipment. Primary duties are cleaning interiors of buses and support vehicles.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. - Operates vehicles while in strict compliance with RFTA policies, directives, and procedures and all Federal and Colorado traffic laws and regulations.
- Performs routine cleaning, and washing of buses, shuttles and automotive equipment.
- Cleans interiors of buses (e.g., floors, walls, mirrors, ceilings, carpet and upholstery) both by hand and with pressurized and power equipment.
- Responsible to maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner. Monitors and orders bus cleaning supplies as needed.
- Operates and parks buses and automotive equipment both inside and outside on the grounds of the RFTA Bus Maintenance Facility.
- Performs routine cleanliness inspections with Operations personnel. Performs annual cleanliness inspections for FTA SGR reporting.
- Actively and continuously improves professional knowledge, skills, and abilities by participating in routine training sessions and educational seminars relevant to position and job duties.
- Documents all actions taken in a professional manner in written and /or electronic format. Completes all necessary forms (e.g., accident, incident, and spill reports, core and warranty information and etc.).
- Completes assigned safety and compliance training in RFTA sponsored Learning Management Software on a timely basis. Incomplete training required for position will adversely affect annual performance review. This includes all RFTA required training programs.
- Performs assigned fleet wide projects during overlap or downtime.
- Meets attendance/participation standards for routine safety meetings and training session.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Solid knowledge of safety and working practices of routine bus and automotive washing and cleaning
- Adheres to and actively works towards personal, department, and organizational goals and performance standards-detailed performance indicators are discussed in detail in a separate departmental document.
- Ability to use computer software. Ability to perform accurate data entry for maintenance software.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and abide by department code of conduct

- Solid ability to safely operate buses, light and medium duty trucks, and support vehicles.
Qualifications: Education: - Ability to read, write, and understand English for safety and documentation purposes. Ability to use computer to log time and document issues.
License & Certification Requirements- must possess and maintain: - Valid/current State Driver's License
- If employee possesses an out of state driver's license they must provide Colorado license within 90 days of hire.
Experience: - Experience not required; training provided. Must speak, read, understand English well enough to comprehend training, safety communication, and documentation.
Working Conditions: Strenuous physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. This position involves walking several miles per day, frequently climbing up and down stairs, bending, stooping, and repetitive motions. Works in close proximity to operating machinery and outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Incumbent will be required to lift, bend and stoop. Comes in contact with bodily fluids on a regular basis. Works on a regular basis with cleaning supplies, strictly adhering to all safety rules and regulations pertaining to their use, storage, and proper disposal. Personal Protective Equipment provided.
Must be able to pass fitness for duty test and drug and alcohol prior to employment. RFTA Vehicle Maintenance Department operates two locations 24 hours per day/7 days per week/365 days per year. All employees are expected to work weekends, holidays and any shift as necessary.
Most shifts are 10 ½ hours with non-traditional staring times. Generally, the morning shift (6:00 AM), afternoon (2:00 PM) or graveyard (10:00 PM). There are no conventional Mon-Fri 8-5 shifts. This position is subject to shift differential pay based on hours worked or job assignments.
