Overview Candidates must be able to come onsite to Lebanon, NH Creates and implements cohesive and effective internal and external communications plans that inform and educate Dartmouth Health, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics nurses, physicians and other employees on key operational issues, strategic priorities, clinical information, finance and organizational goals and initiatives. Partners with C&M leadership and nursing leadership on communication strategies for nursing and other key organizational areas, and takes a lead to execute tactics that maintain and increase nurse and employee engagement. Responsibilities Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive and integrated internal communications plans for Dartmouth Health-, and recommends development and maintenance of appropriate channels to deliver organizational messaging. Serves as the primary strategist and writer of key nursing and other leadership communications to diverse employee audiences across both Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center/Clinics and Dartmouth Health. Key leadership communications include organizational structure and transitions in leadership, policy or practice changes that affect nursing and employee compensation and benefits, shared governance, issues that threaten the stability or focus of the workforce, and updates on major change management initiatives. Works and collaborates with Communications & Marketing's Content, Creative Productions, Media Relations, Digital Productions, and other internal teams to maximize the effectiveness and reach. Partners as a member of the Communications team to facilitate urgent clinical or emergency messaging within Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, as part of DHMC's Hospital Incident Command System (HICS). Assumes responsibility for leading Internal Communications with the Nursing Shared Governance Committee to provide advice, counsel and feedback on internal and external communications plans, tactics and vehicles and ensure specific promotion of messaging is achieved. Develops goals for and quantifiable measures of the effectiveness of communications and implements tools for ensuring consistent measurement of outcomes and feedback. Serves as a communications consultant/advisor to other departments, sections, programs and/or strategic initiatives where a comprehensive approach to internal and external communications is critical to success. Develops digital content for as appropriate including social media. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field from an accredited college/university A minimum of 6 years or more of relevant corporate communications or related experience required. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a sense of diplomacy, sound political judgment, flexibility and the ability to work as part of an integrated team are required. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion and maturity is essential. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under pressure required. Experience in health care, especially nursing, preferred.
