Job Summary The Unit Director III will be the on-site leader for our organization at a Business and industry Account. In the eyes of the client, this is the person that best represents our company. As you will see below, this role is expanding and one must have solid communication, organizational, and time management skills. Responsible for managing the contracted services and assigned unit(s). Responsible for managing all activities of the department including ultimate financial responsibility. Successfully works with all levels of the facility staff in all matters relating to the scope of the facility. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing HSE training, behavioral-based safety programs, risk analysis, and HSE procedures in a hard and soft services environment at one or more client sites. Other responsibilities may include safety supervision of construction and special projects including Compass employees and contractor staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Achieve Budget/Financial Responsibilities Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and statistics.Controls expenses within the area of responsibility.Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.Evaluate and justify supplies, equipment, and purchases as needed. Short Description Operation Excellence Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans.Acts as a positive role model; proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectivesProvides recommendations for replacement of furnishings and wall coverings with OSHA standards in mind.Maintains an environment that is in sanitary, attractive and in an orderly condition.Understands and develops the Total Quality Management Process; Rounding the facility.Demonstrates understanding and compentency in interviewing candidates for openings.Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy.Demonstrates and promotes Compass culture, values and management philosophy.People ManagementCoaching management and hourly employees.Encourages and nurtures associated creativity and innovation. Develop and maintain performance appraisals for staff on a timely and accurate basis.Encourage staff to participate in additional training, education, and/or self-development.Maintains a harassment-free environment with good employee morale by demonstrating good employee relations practices and utilizing HR consultation when needed.
