About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to play a pivotal role in advancing the security posture of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities. The CISO will be responsible for assessing, designing, deploying, monitoring, and continuously improving the security framework in alignment with the agency's mission. This includes working in partnership with the Chief Information Officer and the Chief Information Security Officer of the Commonwealth to ensure strategic and tactical information security direction. The role involves implementing security policies and procedures, monitoring emerging technologies, and ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards. The CISO will also lead risk assessment activities, provide interagency security operations, and manage a team to ensure the security of data and IT services. Applicants for the CISO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in information security or cyber security, with a strong background in security frameworks, particularly NIST. A managerial or supervisory experience of at least 3 years' in a large or matrixed organization is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of NIST SP800-53 and ISO 27001, as well as experience in security control across various IT environments. Extensive experience in IT, information security, and cyber security is essential, along with a proven track record in areas such as policy development, application design, security audits, and disaster recovery. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders are also key requirements.
