Cafe Worker

Employment Type:

• Full-Time or Part-Time

Compensation:

• $18 per hour
• Performance-based reviews may qualify you for a raise

Schedule:

• No evenings or weekends

Position Overview:

Your beginning wage is $18 per hour. Reviews based on your performance will enable you to get a raise.

Our café specializes in fresh, homemade breakfast and lunch items for Grab & Go and walk-up customers. We also bake bread daily for our sub sandwiches. As a Café Worker, you will:

• Prepare food following café recipes and health department specifications.
• Use a deep fryer and grill for food preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and walk-in storage areas.
• Notify the manager of any equipment needing repair.
• Take customer orders in person, over the phone, and through third-party delivery platforms, accurately entering orders into the POS system.
• Learn and adhere to all café recipes and prepare items to specifications and customer requests.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and orderly storage areas.
• Complete prep work, stocking, dishes, laundry, and cleaning tasks throughout the shift and before it ends.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily logs and waste sheets.
• Ensure work areas are clean and orderly for the next shift.
• Note: This position does not include cashiering duties.

Requirements & Skills:

• Minimum of 6 months food service experience
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with crew and customers in a friendly manner.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a Washington State Food Worker Card.
• Adherence to the uniform policy: company shirt, name tag, black pants, and hair secured tightly.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Basic computer knowledge (training on our system will be provided).
• Ability to work with sharp utensils and cook at high temperatures consistently throughout the shift.
• Physical ability to lift 30 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, stretch, and reach consistently throughout the shift.
