MB BIM Solutions is a team of engineers located in the Denver Tech Center, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of G.H. Phipps Construction Companies.We use our design, software, and construction coordination backgrounds to offer BIM consulting services to GH Phipps, other general contractors, and specialty subcontractors.Our main service offerings include fabrication modeling and shop drawings for various building systems (such as precast concrete, rebar, cast in place concrete, and MEP systems), 3D coordination and clash detection, construction sequencing and schedule simulations, construction visualization, reality capture, and structural engineering consulting.We work on high-profile large commercial construction projects throughout the Rocky Mountain region.Our service offerings continue to expand as we grow to include leading BIM/VDC technologies and project delivery methods.We are a small, dynamic firm that drives and adapts to advances in BIM technology, workflows, and practices.Our success is a direct result of having a team that is innovative, software-driven, and forward-thinking.With our small company atmosphere and culture of innovation, each team member's ideas and contributions are highly valued.
We are seeking candidates who are independent, self-motivated, creative, and quick to learn new software and applications.We are interested in candidates with a background in structural engineering, architecture, mechanical engineering or design, or construction that have a strong expertise in BIM software.
- Essential Job Functions
- Read, interpret, and understand architectural, structural, and MEP design drawings
- Build accurate, detailed, and data-rich Revit models to a fabrication level of detail for various scopes of work
- Develop Revit skillset necessary to function at a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and productivity
- Understand construction operations and techniques (means and methods) used in the field
- Coordinate drawings and models from various trades and disciplines and use BIM to identify, coordinate, and resolve construction conflicts
- Create drawings from fabrication level models that increase field productivity
- Use BIM to help general contractors to solve project-specific constructability issues
- Create 4D construction sequencing simulations in Navisworks Timeliner
- Support general contractor project pursuits with creative use of BIM models and animations within TwinMotion, SketchUp, drone photogrammetry, and virtual reality
- Support preconstruction departments by using BIM for site logistics and model-based quantity take-offs
- Use Navisworks to lead the BIM coordination process between the MEFP trades and the design models
- Create shop drawings in Revit for trades such as cast-in place concrete, precast concrete, and mechanical and plumbing systems
- Utilize point clouds from 3D laser scans and drone photogrammetry to document and coordinate as-built conditions
- Contribute to the implementation of new BIM processes and services for general contractors and trade contractors
- Help train construction team members in the use of BIM
- Communicate effectively with team members with a positive and solution-oriented manner
- Successfully perform tasks and deliver projects within deadlines and budgets
- Contribute to the fast-paced evolution of our BIM services and processes
- Travel to jobsites, meetings and client locations as needed in support of employees, clients, project team, etc.

- Uses safety equipment as prescribed by company to ensure safety on jobsite
- As a safety sensitive position, complete adherence to alcohol and drug use policies set by company

- Skills
- Ability to creatively identify and solve construction problems using BIM/VDC processes and techniques
- Understanding of construction documents and drawings
- Understanding of basic construction means and methods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and client service approach
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Resourcefulness, self-starting work habits, and creativity in problem solving
- Attention to detail
- Beginner or intermediate knowledge of and experience in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM software
- Strong software and general computer knowledge, and an ability to quickly learn new software
- Ability to adapt to evolving BIM software, technology, processes, and services
- Experience & Education Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in VDC, engineering, construction management or related field.
The salary range for this position is
$ 22.00 /hr and is dependent in experience and title/rank of position offered.
